Aurélia Bouyssonie, founder of MARMO SPIRITO, is a French architect and designer creating multi-faceted residential and commercial projects, as well as collections of furniture.
She lives in Tunis, where she grew up.
After studying in Paris, she worked for three years at Atelier du Pont, an architecture studio.
In 2002, upon returning to Tunisia, she founded her own studio.
Through her projects, she progressively expanded her scope and began designing marble pieces for bathrooms.
She then extended her creative universe to furniture. More recently, Marmo Spirito’s collection has included original wool tufted carpets.
She applies the same principles and philosophy to design as she does to architecture: Minimalist, pure shapes. Natural and noble materials. Unusual proportions.
Stimulating sensory experiences is at the heart of Aurélia’s design approach.
Through an exploration of materiality, color, and form—along with an intuitive juxtaposition of architectural and organic, graphic and instinctual—she curates a wealth of experiences in every space.
Close collaboration with artisans allows her to push the boundaries of creation and achieve high-quality production.
